Ruchira Amare is a leading fashion designer, Y. R. Egon which is her artist name. She specializes in androgynous, zero waste sustainable design technique and works with a variety of mediums like leather. She has worked for designers like Donna Karan, Laura Smalls, Peter Speliopoulous during her fashion career. 

She graduated with honors in fashion design from 'Parsons The New School for Design'. She has been in the Dean's list every semester and also received merit based scholarships.

She is also an engineer from University of Mumbai.

She also teaches classes online and in classroom settings courses that are very specialized and focused on Italian Tailoring Techniques, Creative Construction, Illustration Techniques and Leather Design.

She was trained under various artists in India which has helped her to grow as an artist. She was also selected to exhibit her art work in The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit and Dacia Gallery.
